PANCHRYSIA/ICONOCLASM "The ultimate crescendo of hell" CD (Shiver records) 2006

This split brings together 2 black metal bands from Belgium. The first one, Panchrysia was formed in the winter 1998 and has already released 2 albums, "In obscure depths" (2002) and "Malicious parasite" (2004). If you like the last albums of Satyricon, you should check this band out. As for me the listening is pleasant during one track but quite boring after 2 or 3. The first time I heard about Iconoclasm, it was in 1997 in Rennes when they shared the stage with Enthroned in order to promote their MCD "Preamble to precipitate the destruction of religious artefacts" (1996). Since that, Iconoclasm (formed in 1994) has released 2 albums "Marching evil" in 1999 and "Iconoclastic warfare" in 2005. Here, their 5 five tracks full of savagery are excellent! "Bodicae" with its black n'roll reminds me the best efforts of Barathrum, while "Of nothingness" and especially "Rebel of hate" are 2 pure Black/Thrash jewels! The 2 other titles "Hellmouth" and "No pity...no fear" are more unadventurous but still very good! An interesting split CD with an excellent Iconoclasm performance!
